CES SPLM vows to support new party secretary general

Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) secretariat in Central Equatoria State has vowed to support the newly appointed party Secretary General, prof Paul Logale Jumi.

Last week President Salva Kiir appointed prof. Paul Lagole Juma as the state Secretary General of Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM), after strpping Dr. James Wani Igga of the position.

Kiir also named Baba Medan Konyi as the Second Deputy Secretary General, tasked with overseeing administration and finance.

In order to give support to the new cadres, on Thursday the SPLM Secretariat of Central Equatoria State paid a courtesy visit to the residence of the newly appointed SPLM Secretary General, Cde. Prof. Dr. Paul Logale Jumi.

The purpose of the visit was to extend congratulatory messages on the appointment and to express the state SPLM’s support for his new leadership assignment.

The delegation from the SPLM Secretariat was led by Cde. Rhoda John Konga, State SPLM Deputy Chairperson, SPLM Secretary Cde. Anna Kakua Samsom, and other senior party officials.

Addressing the media, Emmanuel Ladu Kose, Assistant Secretary for Culture, Information, and Communication, read out the state SPLM’s congratulatory message assuring their steadfast commitment to working closely with the new SPLM Secretary General.

Ladu expressed that the state SPLM leadership remains committed to ensuring that enough mobilization is done ahead of the 2026 elections.

He reiterated that the party remain committed to implementing the peace agreement.

Ladu emphasized that the party members remain committed to the party activities and vowed to ensure that the need to strengthen relationships among members.

On his part, Cde. Paul expressed readiness to cooperate and work as a team towards implementation of SPLM’s vision, mission, and objectives, including policies and programs in the state.
